The following comes as no surprise. HULU has been trying to avoid the purely Ad-Free model for some time but with increasing pressures from competitors like Netflix and Amazon Prime, they needed to get aggressive. Now, they will need to be very careful on their price point; I feel $12 - $14 is a bit bullish especially with Netflix’s lower price offering and currently more compelling content. HULU will need to get more aggressive with originals while also being keen to listen to their audience's focus and demand in order to separate themselves enough to justify this current price point. If not, I feel they will be forced to come down in price. Regardless, having more competition in this space is a good thing, especially for independents. -Kyle
